Shirley Bench Allred

Shirley Bench Allred, 83, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Feb. 19, 2008.
She was born in Manti on May 23, 1924 to Frank and Alice Bench, the last of ten children; five boys and five girls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce A. Allred; her parents; and all of her siblings.
She married Bruce A. Allred Dec. 7, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah LDS Temple in 1989, one year after Bruce’s passing which occurred in June of 1988.
Together they had three children, Bruce Gail Allred; Shirleen (Lamar) Cloward; American Fork, Bobbie (Sam) Cox, Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Gina Tooley and Wyatt Cloward; and great-grandchildren, Kylee Tooley, Chandler Tooley, and Davi Rae Cloward.
Her accomplishments include working as a dental assistant, school lunch server, temple worker, and much involvement with the Relief Society, including coordination of banquets and funerals for the 2nd ward.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 22 at noon at Rasmussen Mortuary.
Interment was in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
