Izola Blackham
February 6, 1923 - July 20, 2008
Izola Jacobson Blackham died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family on July 20, 2008 at Sanpete Valley Hospital. She was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Izola was born February 6, 1923 to Eva Peterson and Virgel Jacobson in Fountain Green. She married Perry Blackham on May 27, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple. They made their home in Moroni and had lived there ever since.
Izola worked at Moroni Feed Company for 31 years. She was called to her first position in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 14, and had served in various auxiliaries since.
Izola had a powerful testimony of the gospel. A strong work ethic and financial integrity are values she lived by and passed on to her family.
Izola is survived by her children, Elaine (Larry) Christensen, Ephraim; Sandra (Leon) Sidwell, Fairview; Lewis Blackham, Salt Lake City; Lorele (Leon) Day, Fairview and Camille (Jack) Bailey, Ephraim. She also leaves 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren (soon to be 34) behind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry, and their son, Virgel.
Izola leaves a hole in our lives that will never be filled.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 26 at 11 a.m. in the Moroni Stake Center.
Viewings for family and friends will also be at the Moroni Stake Center on Friday evening, July 25 from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday morning from 9-10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Moroni City Cemetery under care of Rassmussen Mortuary.
