The Sanpete Valley Singer’s sixth annual Christmas concert series began last weekend in the Mt. Pleasant and Fairview areas, and will continue over the next couple of weeks.
This year, the choir did something a little different, giving a performance at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant.
“We’ve had great support from the First Presbyterian church for years. This year we decided to thank them by holding our annual Mt. Pleasant community concert there,” said Director Steve Clark.
In the past, the choir has held their concerts at an LDS church, where they still hold rehearsals.
The concert full of all kinds of music from traditional favorites and classical masterpieces to humorous secular pieces, Clark said, calling it “an hour and 15 minutes of the best Christmas Music you’ve ever heard.”
The singers will perform on Thursday, Dec. 14 at the Gunnison State Prison.
Then, on Sunday, Dec. 16 they will combine with the Wasatch Bell Choir at the Spring City LDS church at 7 p.m.
The series continues on Monday, Dec. 17 with a community family-evening beginning at 7 p.m. in the Fountain Green Theatre and Dance Hall.
Two final and much anticipated concerts will be given on Sunday, Dec. 23 on Temple Square in Salt Lake City. The first will be held at the Assembly Hall, and the second in the South Visitors Center.
